I am running Solaris 8 and when you issue an lp command, it returns with the following:
ld.so.1:lp:fatal:libxfn.so.2:eek:pen failed: No such file or directory killed.

did you rm /lib (a link to /usr/lib ) ??
issue: file /lib vox clamantis in deserto.

I did not rm any link. What shuold be I looking for to correct this situation.

Hi,

Sounds strange. When I issue ldd /usr/bin/lp on my Solaris 8 box, it does'nt seem to be dynamically linked with libxfn.so.2. What kind of document do you try to print ? Need a filter program ?

Did you play with LD_LIBRARY_PATH ?

which cmd are you using, cmd-mode, batch-mode, progr-mode
on your sys is libxfn.so.2 not | no more existent
offen they are links
check your LD_LIBRARY_PATH vox clamantis in deserto.

which lp are you calling ?? vox clamantis in deserto.

Hi md1750,

please check if you have SUNWfns installed on your machine (or for 64bit version: SUNWfnsx) or check if you have the libraries in your error message in /usr/lib.

That might be the problem.
