unix client agent

[Arcserver2k]

solaris client agent gives the following error, when trying to backup. I couldnt find any CA documentation for these error message.

"AW0246 E9022 Failed to open file /filename"

Have anyone come across this message.

Sounds like a rights issue, make sure your using root to log in to the machine..

Thanks for your update arcserve guru.

However, can I use any other account with root permissions. OR should I only use root account. The client is not comfortable in giving the root passwd.

Completely Understandly that the client wants to keep his password, but I think root is best. Could you advise him to simply type in the root password whilst you look away or something? Thats how I do it....
