Hi,
I'm new to this forum. I am currently a programmer, I do not have much hands on experience. I am interested in doing Unix certification. What do you guys think about this Unix certification? Is it real hard? Since I'm a beginner, I really wanna do some certification. Please suggest me what are the certification that I can do ?
Thanks in advance

Hi Germo,
Thanks for your reply. As I have said, I am beginner and I'm interested in shell programming and stuffs..Is there are any specific Unix certification that a starter can do? Do u how long will an average person would take to study for the certification...Also, I would like to know abt other certification as well that would be good for the beginners..also I cannot afford to study in some institution...I'll have to study by myself..Could you please let me know about those kinds of certification..I do not have any experience on Unix..but I'm towards it..Also, I have some knowledges on VB, MYSQL, C, C++..do u mind in telling me which one would really suit me apart from Unix, so that I can study by myself..?
Thanks
sara

The best approach would be start with unix basics, there is basic certification from IBM, check the following link

Please note, all these useful if you have access to the AIX box. No matter how good you are theory, practical experience plays a major role in IT.

Good luck,
