Universe with Crystal Reports PSFT EPM 8.9 Question

I am working on a universe that needs both an accounting ledger table and a journal table in it for users to use. The ledger table is a summary of the journal table. The journal table has the line or row detail information about accounting actions.

The problem I am trying to figure out is how to have both in the same universe and use both in a crystal report.

The report requirements are that the summary information be shown on the top pages of the report but have the capability of drilling down to the journal row detail information. So if group1 had a summary of $200 then I need to show in the drill down to detail the 4 entries (or 8 or whatever) that make up the $200.

What I find is that when I have both in the same crystal report I end up having a cartesian effect on the journal information.

If anyone has any ideas, that would be great!

I am using BOEXI R2 and CR XI R2 and Peoplesoft EPM 8.9 (we've build a DW based of the PSFT DW for reporting) is the Datawarehouse.

I think you can use the journal table only and do the aggregation from within the report and set up the drilldown. As for the universe, you can always place the journal class in the same universe.
