Universe Linking

Hi all,

Why I need to go for Universe Linking, if I have only one Universe in the project?

What is the advantage of going for Universe Linking for mulitple Universes in the porject?

Basically, the whole concept of universe linking is a technical nicety that is rarely used. It will - in some cases - allow you to fuse two existing structures in order to run everything in one DP.
In most cases one can easily get same results with linking within a document.

Personally I have only used the concept once. The customized universe we got with a new application was linked to the database where we stored our CRM data....

On the subject of Linked Universes

At the moment, in Version 5.1.7 Universe Linking does not seem to include the Context.

Does anybody know if there is any way around this limitation, and if not is there any helpful improvement in Version 6?

Iain,

AFAIK almost nothing has changed on the designer side between versions 5 and 6. In fact version '6' is an overstatement in my view. No major changes, just some refinements...........
