Hi all: 2 months new to the UniVerse environment. Would anyone know what query/reporting tools are available for IBM's UniVerse database? Looking for a Gui based tools if possible. I know there is the RetrieVe app that is native. Is RetrieVe mostily used for reporting?

Thanks

Hi. Haven't used Universe for a long time now, but there is a Pick forum at forum291 which might be of help to you if there are no responses here.

thanks I think I did a pretty detail search on the site here and did see the Pick forum. I posted in AIX thinking that perhaps an AIX admin or user would have come across this issue first.

Thanks

Not sure if IBM has a UniVerse DB.
I think DB2 is also known as a "universal" database, or UDB.
Not PICK based.

What version is your DB?

As far as I'm aware IBM took over both Unidata and Universe Pick derivatives and called it/them U2. However, I stand to be corrected.

I am sure that IBM has the UniVerse database. There are no plans to roll it into DB2 as was speculated 3 years ago. You are correct stating that DB2 is marketed as "Universal" database, but it still retains its product uniqueness. IBM Univserse is a type of PICK database. v10 UniVerse and UniData are part of IBM's U2 line of SMB database products.
