UNIVERGE® MH240 Multiline Mobile Handset

Does anyone know anything about this handset? I would like to know if NEC access point are required when using this device of if i can use a different manf for access points. The sales brochure for this product says you can deploy effortlessly using NEC access points but not that they are required. Since its a VoIP handset I would think that the access point shouldnt matter. This is a new prodoct (to me) and I am a little nervous about deploying this on a large scale.

It will most likely work fine on any AP. The problem is the handoff. If you have a small office and only one AP this should be fine, however in a larger environment you need a much more complex wireless system that will facilitate handing the call off to the next AP. It is more than just an AP that is required it is an actual wireless "controller". The NEC wireless solution is very robust and monitors and controls all the traffic to all AP's, and provides for QoS in the wireless network.
