For our default VM to the general mailbox if the caller leaves a message and hangs up the message is not delivered. If the caller waits they are prompted to press 1 to send message and if caller presses 1 call is delivered. ANy reason hang ups after leaving a msg are not deivered?

Need more info: Unity version, Unified Messaging or Voicemail Only, Exchange version, OS version...?

Hmmm that's interesting...have you checked, in the SA pages, the After Greeting action on the Greetings page of a subscriber this is happening to? It should be set to take message...but that's a long shot for the problem solution...

The only other thing I can think of is your recordings are set too long/short...they would be in the SA under System/Configuration - Recordings.

Unity 4.0 VM only.It seems from doing some testing, the prompt to pres 1 to send, 2 to add,ect is a constant 3 seconds after the speach stops. Does unity activly "listen" to the message recording to determine silence then trigger the prompts on a timer?

I havent come across VM that gives the option to hold for more options, it usually requires the caller to tell the VM the message is over i.e press 1 for more options. Maybe unity doesn't know the caller hung up, so im checking disconnect supervision is being sent by the local carrier.

Yes, Unity listens to the length of a recording and:

- discards it if it's too short;
- ends recording if there is a long pause (default is 3 seconds).

What phone system are you integrated with?

Also, if a user presses # when they're finished recording a message for a user, they'll hear those options immediately.

What exact version are you using (I know you said 4.0, but are you using 4.0.3, 4.0.4, 4.0.5, etc.)? It does make a difference...
