I have a unity system where I`m max`ed with users example 150 subscribers and 150 voice mail subscribers- Is the difference between the subscribers the Exchange part and the voice mail part ? the server is Voice Mail only. I deleted myself to prove we were max`ed out and then added the new user ok- proves we were max`ed. I deleted some older users which gave me back more Voice Mail subscribers I then added myself but I could not do it as a new user but as an imported user i.e in my thinking the exchange part still had me configured.

Question. When I deleted myself the subscriber- Exchange was not reduced though the Unity sub was. Is it correct in that I need to delete the Exchange user as well so to fully have spare capability? If I do how is it achieved?

thanks

Licenses are only for Unity subscribers. Nothing to do with exchange.
When you delete a user from Unity it frees up the license. However you cannot add the same user again as a new user since the user exists in Exchange (AD).
You will have to delete the AD reference of the user to add him/her as knew. Otherwise you can only import.

I'll have to agree with whykap, we have a 25 user license and 27 users/voice mail boxes. I couldn't figure out how this was, but I eventually caught on that if I create a new user on the Unity Server that you could import the user to the software and set it up that way. Not sure if that is the correct way or not to do this, but it works, so I'm not complaining and nor are any of my coworkers.

So does that mean that if I delete a user my exchange part of a Voice Mail only Unity stays at 150 in my case but my Unity subscribers are decreased by 1. So for a brand new user you add them but to re-add an existing user you deleted previously you import them since the exchange part has a record of them from before. If this is the case as I add and remove Unity users over time I have to be aware of the max. Unity users but exchange keeps a record of them but i can go above the number of 150 for exchange only so in theory exchange may have 200, 250 users long term but the license is still 150 - I need to export the user in a file how do I do this?

thanks

Does anyone have access to Cisco Unified Messenger training documentation? or better yet... tutorial information would be great.

Thanks

That I know of in the Unity software you can export users. Now I have no idea where you would be wanting to export these users too. The thing is though, when you export them are you wanting to re add them or are you just moving them to another allocation all together?

I just need to run a report showing all the users in Unity so I can compare them against a HR list or against CCM

In the Unity Tool Depot use the subscriber information dump tool.

Thanks for the info. found it via the sub information dump
