Built a vpim entry and pointed it to our smtp server. When I compose the message and try to send it I get a message stating that the mwessage was marked private and cannot be sent. Tried marking it something other than private before sending it and get the same result. If I don't relay through the smart host entry which is the smtp server the message will be sent as normal. Is there a setting that marks a message private if I send through the smart host? New to cisco so please forgive me if I'm not using the correct terminology.

unity connection. 8.0. In messaging I'm allowing relaying of private and secure messages.

I don't believe that's supported but you'll need to verify in the 8.0 documentation.
Relaying a private and/or secure msg would defeat the purpose of a secure/private message.
