hey i'm really hoping someone can help me here. i've got a file called reportdb.bak on my unity server at d:\commserver that is about 53GB in size. it's got an access time of this morning at 2:01am CST.

What is this file and what should I do with it. my hard drive is nearly full (600MB available) and this seem to be a single file that's taking up the entire application drive.

hope someone can help me.

Thanks,

No dice here. I've already found that document and done as suggested. the logger cleanup settings are set to seven days, and i've been manually running those shrink commands over the last month. they only seem to affect the .ldf, and .mdf files.

After looking even closer I found that the database files mentioned above are stored at d:\unitydata\unitylogs, and d:\unitydata\unitydb.

the two .bak files in question are in d:\commserver there is one for reportdb and one for unitydb.

After much searching around I found that there are two backup jobs setup to run on this unity server through SQL enterprise Manager. the settings on these jobs indicate they append the backup to last backup which would explain why the file keeps growing. I'd assume at some point this file is supposed to be overwritten, instead of appending it for the last four years. Does anyone know what the settings on this backup job should be and where to find them in the unity configuration?

Thanks,
