If a call comes in through our AT&T ISDN/PRI to a DID extension the caller id appears correctly on the phone, however, if the call comes through the Unity 4.0 Call Handler, the caller ID appearance is the extension number for the mail voice mail (2000 in our situation). Also, if a call is forwarded from an extension to a cell phone, for example, the caller id is the forwarding extension or the voice mail extension, not the originating caller id.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem with cell phones... what happens in my case is when the call is fowarded it briefly flashes the caller id of the vm system then updates it to show the caller id of the original call. This is fine on a digital handset like a 7960, but when it goes to an analog phone (like a cordless hooked up through an ATA) or a cell phone they do not support the caller id changing half way through and continue to show the caller id of the voice mail system. I do not believe there is any way to modify this behavior.

the problem is with how you get the call to unity...
Do all your calls seem to becoming from the same place?
Are you using a fake phone to forward calls to unity and manipulating your call routing based on forwarded or originating EXT?

Use a CTI route point to get call to your calls to unity. Translation pattern will work also..
You may want to change your call routing in unity to only accept external calls..
