Been a while since i've done this, maybe too long
dug out an older nortel 1140e to play with
has SIP on it, from some work i did on cs1k
but now want to play with it on my bcm50
followed the second post here

it gets to my tftp server (3cdaemon) but says can't open file
question is "which file" is it trying to open
my bin file or my cfg file
I did the config file in notepad and saved as a cfg file

(i pulled the bin file referenced here off avaya's site)
DOWNLOAD_MODE FORCED
VERSION 0625C4B
FILENAME 0625C4B.bin
PROTOCOL TFTP
SERVER_IP 172.16.1.103
SECURITY_MODE 0

any hints are appreciated...even if its pointing me somewhere to read
googling it i keep going in circles

thanks in advance

thanks curlycord
it was the "adding SIP to the end of 1140e.cfg" file name that was stumping me
(like 1140eSIP.cfg)

i don't recall having to do that before

It's because a phone with SIP firmware is looking for a config file that includes SIP in the name. It doesn't care about being pointed at the Unistim firmware, it's just looking for a file with right name. You would do the reverse to flash a phone from Unistim to SIP
