Hi everybody. This morning our BCM 400 3.7 was working fine. But since we had a problem with our DHCP server I had to re-adjust the IP phones so they do not use DHCP for registering to the BCM. I mean, all of them use a manually configured IP address. But suddendly, when I was programming the last telephones, they didn't register and I was receiving the message of the unreachable server. So, from one moment to another we had all of the IP phones "unregistered", just as if we had restarted the BCM. So I had to do it, restart it and after this action, the IP phones returned to the normal activity. But the question is, what happened?. What could've been the reason for the watchdog to fail when it attempted to restart a service that was down (UTPS)?.

Thanks in advance, any advice is welcome!

Good question dude!
Why does Word always freeze right before you save your document???
Who knows.
Bottom line, the BCM is a PC and susceptable to all the same quirky behavior.
Maybe you over taxed the CPU.
I've seen unistem fail during backups or archlog generation, both processor intensive procedures.

That's what I thought man. As I've never seen this behavior before I thought that maybe it was overloaded with some tasks to do. And since all of the 54 IP phones we have in the system were working at that time, it's probably the reason why it happened.

Thanks for your response!
