HI,
Im having a problem with Backexec 8.6. I am unable to backup
my mailboxes. I can backup the Information Store with no problem. When i create a backup job for the mailboxes and supply the mailbox name for BackupExec; it just keeps coming back over and over.
The mailbox is created and functional. My backup user has been given Admin rights to the Site (which in turn affects all the mailboxes with the same level rights).

I've been to the veritas site and to no avail unable to fix my problem.

Probably just missing something stupid :)

I hope someone here can shed some light.

Thanks
Nick

Having the same probs matey, this product is crap, sorry I can't help, but once I solve it i'll let u know

Is your mailbox account for back up listed in the global address book. If not a nd you choose to hide it your mailboxes will fail. This is a real pain, especially if everyone asks who is backup.

Just as a suggestion Nicks, have you thought of trying to ammend the backup which backs up the Info Store, also selecting the mailboxes, just as a test.

What OS versions etc are you running? What errors are you getting, if you can add some specifics you may find you get some more help.

Cheers

Thanks Funky_daz

Mkenny - Yes it is in the gloabl address list unhidden

Dellboy - This is the whole thing, it doesn't allow me to selct the mailboxes, username and password window keeps reappearing. And im certain it is all good.

I had same probelm would not accept the Backup profile. In the end I used the Admin profile and this worked fine. Try creating a profile for the Admin and using that. Odd but it worked for me!

**Sorry**

When I say profile I meant the MAPI clients' Mail Profile not the NT user profile. Create a mailbox for the Admin account and give Backup Exec that Profile name and password for the Admin Account.

Okay...I just got this thing figured out. Originally, I was installing Outlook2000 on the backup server...and it just couldn't connect to the mailboxes. So, I removed that, and reinstalled Outlook98. That did the trick for me. Apparently, BENT likes the MAPI32.dll from Outlook98 a lot better.

Spirit when you say admin account do you mean Domain Administrator?
