Union hotfiles with user version

I am currently (limited) to the Impromptu user version and am trying to perform a union on two hotfiles. (I am using hotfiles because the catalog design produces a cross product between the data in them.) Each file contains one variable. I cannot find a way to do a union! (I need to create a 'combined' hotfile for further use in Impromptu, so I can't take it "outside" the product to do the union. Any ideas?

Instead of using hotfiles why don't you alias the tables instead (you won't get a cross product with an alias table)?
