Uninstalling WAN Miniport Driver, not allowed??

Hey there, I'm trying to uninstall multiple WAN Miniport adapters from my device manager in win2k pro. The only reason why they are there is because of our VPN software (which is very very flakey by the way). I uninstalled VPN, tried uninstalling these adpaters from "Safe Mode" still no luck. Yes I am logged in as Administrator.

Any ideas? There's 6 of those adapters.
