I hope this is the right place to post this, if not, my apologies in advance. (I already posted it in the wrong place once ;-)

I've uninstalled AVG, but notice it is still in the Configuration Files at Start-up. How do I get it out of there too?

Thanks

Windows 98 And I uninstalled it from add/remove programs

You say it is in the configuration files at start up. What configuration files?

You can look at the autoexec.bat and/or the config.sys for any Norton AV addition and remove it.

From the ms-dos prompt, type:

edit c:\autoexec.bat
and after deleting the lines you want to, do:
alt-File-save
alt-File-exit

Do the same for config.sys

You can also download Regcleaner from the net. It is freeware and allows you to remove applications from startup that stay there after uninstalling the software.

A note. That is Regcleaner not to be confused with Microsoft's regclean. The version that I downloaded of Regcleaner was 4.3.0.78 (I think).
