I'm struggling to uninstall Symantec antivirus client from my 2k workstation.

It's giving me the parent machine name and asking for the uninstall password. I didn't set one ! I've tried the Antivirus server group password, the domain admin password and the local admin password but none of them will do the trick.

If anyone could advise me I'd be very apreciative.

The default password is symantec, and if you have not set any password this may still work.

Thank you :) Of course I'm sure that would be documented somewhere is all the bumph - migrating from Network Associates and have to say it's not half as straight forward.

Thanks again

Not sure if thats in the documentation or not, I never read the instructions. :)

On the individual pc versions of McAfee stuff, the automatic uninstalls do not remove all traces, you have to do some additional manual stuff to help out. Dont know if that's relevant/applicable in your situation or is any cause of problems with symantec.
