I am unable to uninstall Metaframe Xpe with FR1 on a W2K server. Is there a way to forcibly uninstall Metaframe? Thanks.

You need to run the RMVICA utility from a command line. Here is a clip from a readme that I saved a while back. I'm sure all the info you will need for your particular situation is included.

********************

RMVICA

Rmvica is the MetaFrame XP uninstallation command line utility.
Rmvica removes MetaFrame XP, the Citrix Management Console, and
associated documentation from a server.

Syntax

rmvica [/u] rmvica [/nods] [/u] rmvica [/force] [/u] rmvica [/trace]
rmvica [/notrace]

Options

/u
Unattended uninstallation. Removes MetaFrame XP, documentation, and
the Citrix Management Console files. Reboots automatically when
finished.
/nods
Removes MetaFrame XP without attempting to contact the data store and
remove the server from the farm first ("no data store").
/force
Removes as many of the files and registry settings as possible,
ignoring all errors. The only time the /force option fails is if the
MetaFrame XP uninstallation process is unable to execute.
/trace
Writes the uninstallation log to disk. This option is enabled by
default. The IMA uninstallation log is named Ima_unins.log and is in
the %SystemRoot% folder. The MetaFrame uninstallation log is named
Rmvicatrace.log and is in the %SystemRoot%\System32 folder.
/notrace
Disables the logging of uninstallation information to disk.
Remarks

The /nods option is best used when either the data store is not
available or a particular IMA subsystem is preventing uninstallation
from completing successfully. If the IMA service is running, the data
store is available, and the network is functioning correctly, but
uninstallation fails; a subsystem can be preventing the
uninstallation.

The /force option is best used when installation logs (used by
uninstallation) are not available, or other errors that are not IMA-
related are preventing uninstallation from completing successfully.

Using the /u switch with /nods or /force still requires an initial
confirmation, after which the uninstallation continues without
requiring user intervention.

If using the /nods or /force switch for uninstallation, the server
does not remove itself from the farm. After uninstallation, it is
necessary to manually remove the server record from the farm using
the Citrix Management Console. For more information about removing a
server record, search the Citrix Management Console online help
for "remove server."

Always attempt to use /nods first. This uninstallation removes more
components than the /force uninstallation. If this fails, use the
rmvica /force to uninstall.

If complete removal of all MetaFrame XP software is desired, verify
that the following folders are removed, or manually remove them after
uninstallation:

%ProgramFiles%\Citrix\Administration
%ProgramFiles%\Citrix\Documentation
%ProgramFiles%\Citrix\Independent Management Architecture
%SystemRoot%\System32\Citrix\IMA
%SystemRoot%\System32\Citrix\LicenseDB
Security Restrictions

You must be a member of the local Administrators group or have
administrative privileges on the server.

I tried using both rmvica /nods and /force. I receive the following error: "An Error occured while uninstalling a Feature Release or a Service Pack for Metaframe XP. Uninstall will now exit." Does this mean I have to start from scratch and wipe out the entire server? Thanks in advance.

If you want to uninstall Metaframe then the best way is to reinstall your server bottom-up. You can uninstall if you are lucky but reinstallation gives you a lot of problems. For instance, I once made an error to map my drives wrong (m and n instead of o and p). I deinstalled MF and then tried to install it. It never worked again.
So the story of this is. Format C:\ get yourself a cup of coffee en reinstall your server. Ofcourse, try to make a full backup first :)

Thanks guys, I did end up wiping and reloading the entire server and everything is working great now. I guess when working with Metaframe XPe you MUST get it right the first time.
