Hi i hope this is the right forum for my problem,

I got this very poor quality 30 dollar digital camera/webcam/memory stick and needless to say it did not work very well. I uninstalled the driver and the software(Arcsoft) but there's one thing left over: Under "my comupter" where it has 'c' drive and 'a' floppy, there's still an icon that says "my digital camera". And it still behaves the same way it did before removing the software. When i click on "my digital camera" , it stalls for over a minute, then i get a tasklist window saying its not responding then i click 'end task'. When i click 'end task' all the icons in the system tray disapear except a few and then the computer is unbeleivably slow. I have to reboot and defrag to get my pc back to normal performance every time this happens.

How do I safley remove what ever is causing this "my digital camera" icon to still appear there. And does anyone know why clicking on this icon would not be able to access the camera prperly in the first place?... even before removing i had removed the driver?

Thanks for your time , Simon.

Reinstall the camera's software.

If the same problem happens, then uninstall it in 'Add/Remove Programs'.

Hi , i know this is an old thread but its short.

Brief recap: I can't get rid of this "my digital camera" icon under "my computer" after unistalling all the software/drivers. Clicking on it still majorly disrupts my system.

If ski is still around: i reinstalled the camera software and uninstalled it, and the icon is still there.

I had to buy the cam again to get the software back cause i had returned it before trying to uninstall. Sorry about the massive delayed response.

If it's a Fuji camera, then try the following:
1. Insert the Fujifilm Utilities CD-ROM
2. Double Click on 'My Computer'
3. Right click on the CD-ROM icon, and click on Explore
4. Click on the 'Support' folder in the left window of Explorer, and click on the 'Files' folder
5. Double click on the rmvfnsh.exe file to run it
6. Restart Windows
(Note: If the rmvfnsh.exe file is not in the 'Files' folder, then search the other folders on the CD to find it)

If it's a different brand or if the above does not work, then click on Start/Run, type regedit, click OK, click the + next to the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace, click on each sub-key under Namespace, look for a value appears in the right pane that says 'My Digital Camera', right click on it and click Delete, click OK or Yes to the warning, and close Registry Editor.

Try going to the manufacturer's Web site:

Click on "Find Answers Now" then use their search feature to query for "uninstall."

Hope that points you in the right direction!

Regards,
Doc
