Hi Does anyone know how 2 uninstall samba.

Thanks in Advance!!

(I'm talking about Solaris 8)
if you have install samba with `pkgadd'
you can remove with `pkgrm'

check in /var/sadm/pkg/ if you see something like `samba*'
that means that samba was installed with `pkgadd'

so, you have to use:
# pkgrm samba
__
___

Hi Thanks for reply!

I have run pkginfo and cannon see anything related to samba.
However it is in installed and running.

I have REM out referenced in /etc/inet.d, and /etc/services. I cannot see where this deamon is being started.

This seems al a bit strange.

Any ideas!

Hi,

I believe what you need to do is to stop smaba running and then remove the /usr/local/samba directory (or where ever you installed it). Apart from that all you need to do then is to remove the entries in /etc/rc0.d, rc2.d & init.d.
