Operating system XP SP2 fully patched and virus free.
I attached a Camlink USB 2.0 card reader onto a USB 2 port and XP did its 'thing' and auto installed the drivers, but with errors and a warning that this device may not work properly. It is working, in the sense that I can transfer files from camera cards OK, but only in USB 1 mode. When I plug the Camlink in I get the 'this device can work faster....' warning. (I know it's a USB 2 port as it works fine with other USB 2 peripherals).
My questions are these.
Am I stuck with using this device as USB 1?
How can I uninstall/re-install it to try again?
What services should I check and what state should they be in to ensure a USB device gets installed correctly?
