To Whom It May Concern:

I was trying to uninstall Office when half way through the uninstall process I had to cancel it due to the amount of time it was taking (working on an old pc)...the owner needed it back. However, now that I have the pc back, under the Add/Remove Programs the option to remove Office is no longer there. How do I complete the uninstallation process because I need the space it takes up to install a training module which roughly takes up the same disk space as office.

I appreciate your help. Thanks!

Insert thje Office CD and it should prompt you to either Repair/Reinstall Features or Remove. If the Cd doesn't launch go into the CD through My Computer and double click Setup.exe. Choose the remove option.

By the way, this works for cleaning up failed uninstalls for other Microsoft Applications, not just office. :)

I probably should have given you the thread to read up on what it does.

Sorry about that. If you want to read before you download and install, you can read about it here:

Cheers!

Did this help out, Kanin247?

It's good to leave feedback on whether or not something did in fact help or not so we can better improve our knowledge base as a collective. (wow, sounds like the Borg!) :)

Cheers!

edemiere,

sorry for the no-response just yet. but your suggestion, in fact, was helpful. however, it did not recognize any microsoft office install files. so, i guess the uninstall process already eliminated whatever the WICS utility looks for.

anyway, i decided to just wipe the whole drive (quick and easy solution) since it was only a 3 GB drive anyhow.

but thanks for your assistance. i was unaware of the WICS utility and will make good use of it in the future.

thanks again!
