Uninstall of FR3 brings down server

I uninstalled Metaframe FR3 this weekend, had plans on joining the boxes to our new PS4 farm. After uninstalling FR3, i was not able to get into the box. Tried to RDP, after logging in, i could not get past user the "applying user settings". Happened to 2 different servers; eventually the servers went completely down and had to be rebuilt. Has anyone seen this before where a simple uninstall of Citrix kills a server running Windows 2003?

When I've gone this route I did so by re-imaging the farm w/ system images and scripted PS4 install, instead of uninstalling MetaFrame and installing PS4, or upgrading to 3.0, then 4.0.

Very odd. Was your central data store located on that server?
