I installed the Exchange 2003 Management Tools on my XP Pro(SP2) machine but am reconfiguring it for use elsewhere so need to remove them. So far I have managed to remove the tools themselves but I cannot seem to get rid of the entry within Add/Remove Programs.

Can anyone help me completely remove the "Microsoft Exchange" entry in Add/Remove Programs?

Thanks

try this, I think it should do the trick:

let me know if it doesn't

Insert the Exchange CD & choose REMOVE for the items you want to remove. Then, you can also remove SMTP, NNTP, IIS, and ASP.NET

sorry jsonchan, I assumed you'd done the above.
Best to follow's Pat's directions.

"You should never assume, it makes an "ass" out of "u" and "me".

If only I'd listen to my own advice!

i loaded the setup again from the CD, it showed action only "Typical , Minimum & Custom" at the top row, and "None & Install" on the ESM Tools. i just couldn't find action "remove"???

i tried but no luck. "NONE" means doing nothing!

Is there any other way i can try??

Open Regedit and go to: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Uninstall.

Select each key in the directory pane (left side) and look for an entry on the right that matches what you see in "Add/Remove Programs". Delete the registry key and the entry will go away.

OOPS! That should be "Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Uninstall".

Mondayitis!

58sniper: If you'll read the original post, you'll see that jsonchan had no trouble getting rid of the tools, but that the entry in Add/Remove Programs would not go away. That's what my instructions do for him/her.

well if that is the case and I didn't read it incorrectly then I think this should do the trick

(as per my original post)
