I need to uninstall SQL Server 2005 and then reinstall the program.

Our current SQL Server has many databases I want retain once I have reinstalled SQL Server.

I am assuming the uninstall will not delete my database files????

I currently have the SQL Server program and the databases all installed on the same drive (e:). When I reinstall I want to put the Program on (c:\) and keep my database files on e:\.

Any additional tips and warnings on my uninstall/reinstall process is greatly appreciated. I have have installed SQL Server many times in the past but I have never uninstalled and then reinstalled SQL Server. I am worried about issues.

Assume the uninstall will delete any attached databases.

Back up all the databases you want to keep.
Uninstall SQL Server.
Install SQL Server.
Restore the databases.
