uninstall 1.8 on wind98

I'm having some serious problems with a user's citrix software on pII 800 with 384 ram. We are on 1.8. At various times, the screen will just go crazy and start overlapping and the user has to alt, control, delete to shutdown. This happens only on this pc. I've uninstalled citrix and deleted her profile from the server. What could be the cause? I upgraded her memory from 128 to 384 but that did not help. It's the correct memory too, so that's not the prob.

I had a similar situation with another pc. We later replaced the system and no more problems.

Is it the video card? Network card? ??????

Some applications, unfortunately demand eg hicolor to work properly (talking out of experience). A 'cheapy' color graphics card can start troubling when you still use 256 colors (default). If replacing the system solved the problem than don't bother any more... live on and be happy... It's better to move on than to fade away!

Are more users facing the same problem with the same app, or is only one user using the app ? If more users are using the same app without problems, check to see if the client versions are the same. Also check if you possibly turned on Speedscreen for that user (you can find this in the client program neighborhood). Dor a performance trace on the server (performance monitor) and look what happens with the processor and page-swapping.
