Hello,
I have w2k server, 15 xp pro boxes and 5 nt 4.0 boxes. I have set up a DHCP scope from 192.168.1.10 -192.168.1.30. I have twenty leases as one would expect.
The other day I installed a port monitor and noticed that there is an established connection between 192.168.1.2 (w2k srv) and 192.168.1.101 on port 1399.
If I ping 192.168.1.101 I get a reply.
I have also tried tracert but to no avail. There is no DNS entry either.
Is there any way of finding out who or what owns this IP. It is really frustrating me.
I have two printers, 192.168.1.10 and 192.168.1.20. The router is 192.168.1.1
That is it, no other devices.
thanks in advance

A good fortune may forbode a bad luck, which may in turn disguise a good fortune.
