Hi there,

we have a couple of Unify OpenScape 4000 v7 with Siemens HG3500 (STMI4) voip modules. However I cannot access HG3500's WBM (web interface). I did everything that was said in documentation, but whenever I try to access it, after I hit login I get the message: "You have left the WBM page without logoff. You will be logged out automatically from the telephone system". After I click on the OK button, the login form is displayed again, and it goes like that forever.

See the attached image.

Did you tried to clear browser's cache ?
With other browser it works ?
Try to login by keeping CTRL key pressed, during hit login button.
If still not works, try to restart an STMI board and login again.
Also an ADS soft/hard restart might solve the issue.

Issue is present when you login on STMI WBM from Assitant and/or directly over IP STMI board (TRM/HICOM)?
Make sure that IP of STMI is added in Trusted sites on browser.
And WBM login option is activated for STMI boards.

Yes I have cleared the cache. It is Internet Explorer 11. No, it doesn't work with other browsers (Firefox and Chore don't support JAVA anymore). The same thing happens when I log directly over IP of STMI board and from Assistant. The IP of STMI is added to Trusted sites on browser. WBM login is activated for STMI boards.

I haven't tried restarting it.

Thanks

I use Firefox 51, which I keep frozen on my machine for this purpose. You might try downloading the final release of Java 6 (which is available by reading the fine print on the Java website) and then go into control panel under Java and enter the IP addresses of your STMI and NCUI boards into the whitelist for Java and make sure there is a check mark saying Java 6 is enabled. Depending on how old your V7 is you may need an older version of Java. I am on V7R2 now and it seems to be working OK for me, but I have 2 a couple older versions of Java on my PC regardless of warnings for this purpose. I'm not sure which one it is using. At the beginning of my experiences with WBM it would ONLY work with IE (and you might need an IE older than 11 if you have V7R0 or V7R1 - you might need IE8).

Also look for popups and warnings you may not notice saying you need to allow Java to load or asking you if you really want to execute the application - they are not always obvious. Firefox (51) allows me to say "Allow and Remember" which makes my life MUCH easier. With IE, every time you do something there are like 50 security prompts you have to go through. Also note there are 2 possible password combinations depending on how old your board/loadware is. One is TRM/HICOM and the other is HICOM/HICOM - I have both kinds of boards, which can be a pain to use the right one the first time around.

Good luck! Once you get in there write down how you did, and remember if you make any changes to push SAVE - that is not always immediately evident! Don't press save if you make a mistake - just bail on the connection.

Firefox 51 is also available by reading the fine print on the Firefox website about older versions. If you load that make sure you set it to never install updates. I actually kept the install file on my PC in case some well-meaning tech decides to go ahead and help me out!! You may have to uninstall the current version to install the old one - I can't remember.

donb01, thank you, thank you, thank you. I have just installed Firefox 51 32 bit and allowed JAVA plugin. It works like a charm. Thank you again. It seems that IE has evolved :D. Buy the way mine is V7R1, JAVA version is 1.8.0_91

If you didn't already, make sure you do the Assistant setup steps in Firefox and you can use it to run Assistant too. I have found that when going through the steps, if it gives you an error, back up one step (Prev) and then go forward again and it will usually work. You have to be sure to install the Unify Cert into Firefox though - I have it installed under trusted root providers, I believe. It will still whine at me to activate Java on occasion, or allow access to the assistant IP, but I always say allow and remember and that lasts a while. One thing with Firefox is what I refer to as "the memory leak". I rarely reboot my computer if I don't have to because it takes 20 minutes to settle down again and sometimes things don't work right after. If firefox gets really slow and sluggish just exit out, wait a few minutes for it to free up the memory it is hogging and then go back in and it will be good for a while again. If you are having problems and you open task manager and Firefox is using over 700MB of memory it should be restarted - at 800MB of memory (on my PC) it is close to useless. I use it for everything and rarely touch IE except for a few work things that require it. Also note I would suggest it is very wise to add the "noscript" plugin to Firefox. It will annoy you for a while because it will block scripts that you want to run, but I prefer to be safer than sorry - it allows me to look at what it's blocking, and if it is something I want all the time I say allow it, and if it is something I am not sure whether or not is causing a problem I will say Temporarily Allow and it will only allow it until you restart.
