This is my first attempt at UM.I am unable to get this up and running.I am getting stuck at the Unify with EMail setting.Avaya support tells me that this won't work on Windows Server 2003 so I am trying to administer a simple SMTP connection as an alternatice for this customer.I add the Server of gmail.com and I can 'Unify' the user with this setting whereas the local Outlook would fail. However,I am not getting e-mail at the gmail address with a new voicemail left at the user's extension.
Does anyone have any experience with this and know of any gotchas?
Thanks-

I am pretty sure it will work with 2003. i have it running on a few sites. 2007 has issues.

Have you run into the problem with the "Unify with Email" settings?

I know i am posting here, but I should have mentioned that this is actually a Partner install.Same system/software basically.

I have had issues with the unify... I had a site with like 30 users and all but 2 would unify. I think it had somethign do do with the way they were stored in active directory or something.

Thanks Kwing-It seems noone really knows much about this.Avaya won't support Server 2003 although I am told it is on the "roadmap".I'm quite sure the road is a little bumpy......

Unified messaging worked with Exchange 2003 - up until the June 2006 update patch from Microsoft. That update caused all kinds of problems - so if you can roll back the updates - you should be OK.
