Have a customer with 3.6 that wants to use Mailbox Manager. This is only available when you download Desktop Messaging. I downloaded it on my laptop and everything works fine. However, on the customers PC it says that it cannot connect to the server. All my settings are correct. Are there any ports that may need to be opened on the firewall?

Are they running Mccaffe anti virus? If so port 25 is your problem.
