Unified Messaging to SMTP

Could someone help me with getting the Unified Messaging to work via SMTP (simulated, or otherwise). What I want to accomplish is off site Unified Messaging. Is there an easy way? My idea was to set up a small server to forward email messages from IMAP to SMTP mail....

any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you check out the UM setup/ user guides?

yeah....just looks kinda cryptic...

can you just hang the BCM in the public network, and point back to it?
