From Remote Location. Have VPN set up to get into BCM. Use address 192.168.0.3 for BCM 400 Rlse 4.0. Outlook 2003 with XP OS opens up fine. However when not connected to VPN put public IP address which is DMZ'd to 192.168.0.3 on local it hangs. Will hang for 5 minutes even though have Internet connection. If unplug connection/wireless. Says no connection available (Cancel/Retry) If I reconnect to internet then press Retry Outlook Opens comes right up. Anyone have any ideas to alleviate this. Seems like Nortel doesn't like the public IP address.

its not looking for the public ip, it's looking for the private ip.

the delay is the plugin attempting to connect and timing out when not on the same subnet as the bcm.

the only workaround (as you've discovered) is to disconnect your lan adapter, cancel and then connect your adapter.

there are no settings to change.

Magna,
I have the Public IP address in properties for the Call Pilot Messaging. Why wouldn't it look for that address.

some traffic is not getting through to the call pilot or back.
