Does anyone out there have any experience with UNIFIED MESSAGING (Magix 4.0, Messaging 4.0) with OFF SITE Email Accounts?

The Manual says you can do it.

However, when I set it up, the "UNIFY WITH EMAIL" choice within the MAIL BOX set up is GRAYED OUT.

I recall that the sermon I preached when I was a Sales Support person was "The only way it can work is with your very own Exchange Server".

However, as I said, the story book says otherwise.

As I asked, does anyone know how to do this without the Exchange Server piece?

Thanx in advance.......

You can only synchronize the mailbox if using an on-site exchange server. You can, although I've never done it, set it up to forward to an external smtp server, but it doesn't synch with the mailbox.

Thanks for the response.

I knew it would not be sync'd.

However, as I stated before, the option is "GRAYED OUT".

I just wonder if there is any way to get past this w/o an Exchange Server.

It does work. i have done it a long time ago. I cant find any of my notes but i had a customer who did it and loved it. I dont remember it being hard to set up.
