Unified Messaging Installation

Hello! I am installing Unified Messaging app on a computer. I have created a user nameand password local to our domain. I can log into the domain with the username and password. I enter the information in set-up and go thru the necessary steps, the program gives me an error message. Then I have to un-install the app and try again. I must not be entering the correct info at the screen where it wants domain, account and password. Any ideas?

It is my understanding that it must be installed on a Microsoft Exchange server, and that has to be some early vintage, like 2003 w/o a "Patch".
