I have a customer with a BCM 400 3.7SW. They want to know if when using the fax suite software faxes will go directly to the users inbox or if they go to a central mailbox and have to be manually distributed. Also, with Unified messaging are they able to dial out from their outlook contact database? Thanks!

If the DID is called and the subscribers mailbox answer, the fax is put in that person's mailbox.

Dialing through outlook will require CTE licenses. Nothing to do with Unified messaging.

okay I get it now - they did's to receive the faxes. They have analog co's can they get analog did's or do they have to get a pri?

They have Analog DIDs, but I don't believe they work until 4.0.

Adversity is Opportunity

They can use analog did's but they will have to buy a FEM module(fiber expansion module),a norstar trunk module and a DID card.Probably cheaper to upgrade to 4.0 and buy the ADID(analog did card) module or better go with a PRI.

To answer your question... Yes.. You can have all the faxes (one DID) goto a main mailbox (using one DID), then forward the fax messages as .tiff attachments to the people they are intended for, but this must be done manually. The BCM uses IMAP to retrieve the message headers (not the entire message itself) and thus will not conform to any *rules* setup in Outlook. Once the message has been opened in Outlook can you then forward the attachment in another email to someone else.

Te reason IMAP was chosen, was to allow the users to retain the messages in both the Outlook folder and the BCM voicemail at the same time. Thus when deleting a message in either Outlook or using feature 981, it will be removed from both applications.
