Is there a way to convert UM messages and deliver them to a Blackberry as a WAV file ?

Current version on BCM is 3.5. Not opposed to upgrading though if that will get the job done.

not that I know of. The call pilot player allows you to save it as a .wav file, but the BCM sends it out as a .vbk file.

Nope, there is no way to do so on any BCM nativally..

I did try and play around with a sinario were just for myself,
using outlook 2003 and some VB macros to forward message
recived on the CallPilot profile of outlook to to a forward
to an SMTP address.

The callpilot client sees its going SMTP and converts the
.VBK to .WAV and the end user gets a WAV file.

The problem was:

1) Need 1 PC or Virtual PC per outlook client (user) to
facilitate this. 10 users = 10 PC's with 10 VB macros.

2) outlook marks new-unread voicemail messages as read
each time is check IMAP mail (voicemail interface to BCM
thus the red light on the phone turns off.

3) PC's always need to stay on, on the desktop, outlook Open
for it to work.

I also contacted Nortel's ISV channel to see if any 3rd party's
were working on this.. none as of 6 months ago!

I never did get it to work as a feisable solution that didn't require
consistant mangment.
