Unified Messaging and fax suite

this will be my first time installing both. how difficult is it to install and configure? is there anything i should be aware of? what do you think of these applications?

Not too difficult if you follow the documentation.

I think UM is a waste of money as a standalone.
Big Deal ... you can get your voicemail in your email client. Why not pick up your phone and listen to your voicemail and save a few bucks.

But, when you couple it with FAX suite, it improves the value as now FAXes delivered to your voicemail box will be delivered via your email client and you can simply FAX from any application. Each mailbox owner can also have a dedicated DID for FAX if the customer purchased a large enough block of DID's.
