Hi!
We just tried to install/activate another UC Express on a new win7-machine. We got an error stating, that the license is exhausted.
A question to our dealer was replied with the info that mitel stopped to support UC Express on 2013-06-01.
So is it possible to get it up and running somehow ???

Ove

You can still run it and buy licences; your dealer should know this. tell them to look at bulletin PA20130061.

It is, however, being replaced by a free version of UCA (rel.5.0) which may be better if you can run it. MAS5.0 Bulletin - PA20130107

I'm in the same position with some of our customers. I'm awaiting official word from Mitel.

If i'm reading the bulletin correctly although the new "basic" client software is free the customer will now need a "server" on which to run the "basic" MAS software which is also free.

Is this how everyone else reads it ?

Yes, that is correct but the other bulletin says you can by the old licences.

The software is free and client is free but you still need a MAS server to run it on? How is that free if you need to buy a new server? They should say comes free when you Purchase MAS server. I'm curious to hear what the official word is.

I would have thought that if you are getting MAS then the prequisite of a server would be known. Its Mitels way of getting customers to start off with 'free' stuff and getting sales to say..."well you have the server now so there won't be any further cost in hardware to get X application"; 'upselling' being the buzzword, happens a lot these days.

I reckon Mitel can say its 'free' because they are not selling the server (unless they are of course as part of the guarantee that you will install on certified servers and purchase from mitel.....)
