We have an Access database that uses linked tables from an ODBC source. Up until now our users have been able to run their contact detail reports without error. Today our users received an error stating that the Unicode compression must be an even number of bytes. We traced the error down to a contact table which has a verbatim field listed as a memo field type. It was formatted using the '@' formatting and Unicode compression was set to yes. Unfortunately this database was converted from 7.0 to 2000 but it has returned data for months now without error.

We have tried changing the formatting of the field to the '&' format and we still get the error. We have tried both of those formats and changed Unicode compression to no and still get the error.

If we change the format to nothing (leave it blank) and leave the Unicode compression as yes our query and report will run but will not pull in the data from the memo field.

Any suggestions would be most helpful!
