Has anyone in the group installed AMO. We are on NT. I could use any
hint and tips on installation. THe main focus for us will be to inventory our desktops at our location. Is the Express install "GOOD" enough. I dont quite understand the SECTOR part of the install. Would love to hear from anyone who has done this.

I've installed AMO 2.0, AMO 3.0 for a 1200 seat enterprise. I suggest you start out by getting the architecture right - how many domains, sectors etc. If you can give me an idea of how many sites on your WAN, how many seats at each site then we can take it from there.

Yes, you can use the express install. I'd suggest using it over the custom option for the following reason:

In Express, you are taken step by step through each component install. If, for example, you are 3 components into the install and realize you want to make a change back in component 1, you can click "back" all the way back to the first screen.

In Custom, it installs component by component. In the same scenario as above, you can only back out to the first screen of the current component install.

The best way is to install custom. In that way you can choose your self the naming convention.

First make sure that the user via who you install the soft has the appropriated rights (Log on as a service etc..)

Then its your choice (depending what network you have) to add it to the login script of every user.

If you have all NT you can configure the agent on the software. Once its on the client it may be removed.

Hopefully you can start with this little info
