I have one file server running on a Win 2000 Server platform. Recently, the server is always hang up suddenly, almost once in two days. From the event viewer, event id 6008 is log. It states that the previous system shutdown at TIME on DATE was unexpected. Can anyone have any idea what's wrong on it and how to fix it? Thanks

Have you installed any software recently onto the server?

Event id 6008 is saying just that the system was unexpectedly shuted down.
Have a look at this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Reliability\ see if you have there "Timestamp interval".

Also, of course, check the application log, try to identify when was fisrt time when this problem appear. Can you lnke it to an activity? Like installing a software? Changing a hardware?
