Hi all,
I have a shared Excel Workbook in Excel 97 on the network at work and people have been receiving this message:

Unexpected file lock by ______. You can override this lock, or continue without doing so. If you continue without overriding this lock, you will not be able to save to this file, but you can use File Save As to save your work to a different file. Do you want to override this lock?

Anyone know how someone would go about locking a file that is shared? and how to prevent them from doing so in the future?

Thanks,
Andy
