I am running Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0, Professional edition on a single machine using Pentium and Windows 98.
I developed a program in VB 6 and tried to use PD wizard to create a distributable package. The program can be compiled (.exe exists),however the wizard stops with a message:
"Unexpected error 429 has occurred. Activex component can't create object." This happens when the progress information shows "Loading Package types". I re -installed MDAC_TYP.EXE (7935 kB dated 26/06/98) as recommended in Q 223048 (MSDN Library) , but it made no difference.
I am using only Standard References (VB For Applications, VB runtime objects and procedures, VB objects and procedures, and OLE Automation) and no "extra" components
Regards,
Henry Drillich

Henry Drillich
drillich@tpgi.com.au

Have you run service pac3 and dcom98 or dcom95 depending on which version of windows you are using. This problem kept me up many nights a few months ago. good luck

Thanks for info. I run couple weeks ago Pac3 and it fixed the problem. A similar request was made recently and I also suggested trying Pac3.Thanks again
Henry
