Hey all,
I have a win2k server that appears to have crashed and burned. I am getting the good ole' strike f1 to retry f2 to enter system configuration once the bios clears startup.

Anywho, i did a couple of windows updates the night before. They were nothing major, IE 6 fix, and a couple of 2k security issues...the server was up and running this morning however a user complained about a sequel problem. I rebooted the server (which usually solves this particular problem) and it seems as though the raid controller and/or 1 or more hard-disks has failed.

Long story short, i am wondering if there is a way to remove the windows updates I installed via a DOS command prompt seeing as i cant boot into win2k, for purposes of clearing my conscience more than anything else...

any ideas are appreciated,

Thanks

Sounds more like a hardware failure, not a Windows patch gone sour.
Get a screwdriver (or a hammer) and a capable techy, and have it fixed :)

Problem Resolved. I got a bigger hammer!

Yeah you were right it was a hardware issue. Turns out the OS is corrupt now after fixing the RAID adapter problem...so i don't know if the win2k kernel update had something to do with it...still seems fishy to me. seeing as i have to replace ntoskrnl.exe......

Anyways, got a new problem posted in the thread above! feel free to shine some light on the subject ;-)
