I have an employee who is trying to dial a local number but keeps getting a fast busy. The area code is the same as our own, so I know that's not the issue. I also checked to make sure the NXX was in our system and it was. The number can be dialed from our cell phones - just not from our switch. It is a business number and we have no numbers blocked in our switch.

Any ideas as to where the problem may be?

Is it just his phone or is it everybodys phone? What switch is it?

None of the phones on the switch can dial the number unless they dial the area code first, which we shouldn't have to do because we're in the same area code.

This is a 61C switch.

In ld 86 your RLB what do you have your FRL set to?

One thought I had was do you have any area calling? If all other Nxx's are working could this be a bell issue? Can you get on a trunk or any line within the building and direct call that number without the phone system involved?

if you use the Maintance set to direct select a trunk and then dial from there - if you get the same results it is most likely a Telco issue.

Also, stat T1 loop cahnnels should show 3vce or VOD - if VCE change RDB for 3vce

If you have PRI capture the DCH messaging and see what you are sending out the PRI. You will also see the reject message from the carrier if it's getting that far.

This may be blocked in your switch by programming some place. Using the ENTC command in LD 81 with the DEV option is very helpful to see if you are making it through NARS/BARS. See the NTP for proper use of the ENTC command.
