Understanding the following command, shutdown –r –f –t 5

I was provided this command, shutdown –r –f –t 5 by an Avaya technician as a way to reboot our MAS. I want to understand what the switches are doing. Any assistance would be appreciated.

-r = reboot
-f = force
-t -5 = 5 seconds from now.

whoops I mixed up one switch.
-f = skip fsck on reboot.
