I am new to informatica, so correct me if any misperceptions in my post

As i know goal of the Informatica tool(or any ETL tool) is to load the data into target from different source system.

Assume that our target db is oracle. In this scenario why we need to choose the Informatica, as we can use sql loader & pl sql language to load the data into the Target DB from different source systems.

What is the necessity of informatica over here? Thx in advance for Ur replies

It is not just a question of loading data on a 1:1 basis. You may need to build complex mappings to combine source-data from different systems and INFA is very good at that. What you buy is a complete solution including scheduling , monitoring and a zillion other niceties.
Maintaining the ETL created is a breeze compared to having all your ETL processes coded as well..
