My question is
I have a Partner ACS 6.0 processor that I want to install a Silver Remote access card to. Do I need a "new" card that has never been used before?
Can I use a card that was pulled from another system? I don't want any hick ups when I do this.
It has a green back up card in it now that has the translation saved to it.

Just stick the card into your system, and do a manual backup to overwrite whatever might be on the card. Assign Ext. 76 to hunt group 6, and set a password in #720.

A quick note...establishing a remote session may result in ulcers. [banghead]

The remote card is very fussy. The Sportster and Lucent dial-up modems seem to work the best.

What does fussy mean? I don't want a unhappy customer. I have remote programmed a version 6 a few times with no problems.

By fussy, I mean that some dial-up modems have better luck establishing and retaining a connection with the Partner ACS.

It got to the point where Avaya added a dedicated jack on the 5x9 processor for the connection of a dial-up modem...thus eliminating the need for the B&R/Remote access card.

Ok Dexman thanks for that information. I will keep it in mind. Hope they will look at a new system soon.
Its time.

The Parter ACS is a fine SMB system. The R8 is the final release. If they are being well served by the R6, an upgrade to the R8 might be worth considering. Yes...it is refurbished from here on out...but...it does add features to what is already available on the R6.
